THE PRINCIPLE
Goods in transit are not goods sold
Customs regimes worldwide separate cargo that enters a country to stay, from cargo that enters to work and leave again. Handled correctly, a temporary movement attracts security or a bond rather than outright duty, and that security is released once the item is proven to have left the country.
We help to handle the custody of the regime, the manifest and the deadline, for the outbound repair leg, the inbound working visit, and the return that closes both.
WHAT WE HANDLE
Five streams of temporary movement.
Whether the equipment belongs to a Tanzanian operator sending it out, or to a foreign visitor bringing it in, the discipline is the same: an accurate manifest, the right regime, and a return leg booked before the first flight departs.

Industrial repair & return
Mining, processing, agro-industrial and manufacturing plant components sent abroad for overhaul or warranty repair, then reimported. Gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic assemblies, drive motors, control panels, mill liners, instrumentation, aircraft and vehicle parts. We export the unit under a temporary-export declaration, track it at the repair facility abroad, and reimport it so duty is assessed only on the repair value and freight, not on the full value of a machine you already own.

Film, broadcast & photographic equipment
Production crews, documentary teams, wildlife photographers and broadcasters arriving in Tanzania with cameras, lenses, drones, lighting, audio, grip and cases and leaving with every item. We handle the temporary admission on arrival, the serial-number manifest that customs will match on exit, and the clean re-export at the end of the shoot.

Exhibition, trade fair & demonstration goods
Booth builds, sample stock, demo machinery and promotional material entering Tanzania for a fixed event window and returning to origin afterwards, or Tanzanian goods travelling out to an international fair.

Survey, drilling & scientific instruments
Geophysical survey rigs, core-sampling tools, laboratory and research instruments and calibration equipment brought in for a project period by exploration companies, NGOs, universities and contractors.

Sports, expedition & specialist kit
Rally and motorsport vehicles and spares, expedition and mountaineering equipment, ballooning and aviation kit, medical mission equipment. Items that travel with a team, work for a season, and go home.
WHAT GOES WRONG
The six failures we are hired to prevent.
Every one of these is recoverable if it is handled before the equipment moves.
Paying full duty on your own machine
A repaired component brought back on a standard import entry can be assessed at full replacement value. Correctly declared as a returned repair, the duty base is the repair cost and freight.
Equipment blocked at the airport
Crews who arrive with unmanifested professional gear are routinely stopped, held, or asked to pay full import duty on a camera package they intend to fly home with. A pre-lodged manifest removes the argument.
Serial numbers that don't match on exit
If a lens body or drone is swapped mid-shoot and the serial no longer matches the entry, the whole consignment can be detained. We track amendments while the equipment is still in country.
An entry that is never discharged
An unclosed temporary admission leaves a live liability against the importer and the bond stays encumbered. We close every entry and hand over the proof.
Missing the return flight window
Oversized cases and battery-carrying kit need booked capacity and dangerous-goods handling. We hold space for the return leg when we book the inbound.
Restricted and controlled items
Drones, radio and satellite equipment, and certain optics attract additional Tanzanian authorisation. We flag those requirements at quotation, not at the airport.
